Eternal MMA featherweight champion Sebastian Szalay advanced in the 145-pound draw with a unanimous decision over Jieleyisi Baergeng (19-7) in their three-round quarterfinal on Thursday at the UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai, China. Scores were 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28 for Szalay (9-1), who has rattled off eight consecutive victories. The 31-year-old Australian moves on to face Chang Min Yoon (8-2-1)—a 30-27, 28-29, 30-27 split decision winner over Jin Aoi (14-6-1)—in the featherweight semifinals.

Meanwhile, Keiichiro Nakamura awaits Kaiwen Li in the other featherweight semifinal. Nakamura (6-1) cut down Eo Jin Park (9-2-1) with a knee strike 2:24 into the second round of their 145-pound quarterfinal, while Li (15-6-1) put away Dong Hyun Seo with second-round punches. Seo (7-3-1) checked out 3:21 into Round 2.

Elsewhere, Shuai Yin (18-5) broke through in the 125-pound field, as he wiped out Kai Yoshida with punches in the first round of their flyweight quarterfinal. Yoshida (6-2) succumbed to blows 4:38 into Round 1. Yin moves on to meet Aaron Tau (10-1)—he stopped Rio Tirto (8-1) with punches and elbows 86 seconds into the first round—in the flyweight semifinals.

Finally, Agulali (13-1) sets his sights on Namsrai Batbayar in the other flyweight semifinal. Agulai needed only 37 seconds to punch out Mridul Saikia (8-1) in their 125-pound quarterfinal, while, Batbayar did the same to Wataru Yamauchi (7-2). Batbayar (8-1) drew the curtain 46 seconds into Round 2.
