Bruno Silva Gives Positive Update After Brutal KO Loss at UFC 315

All seems to be well with Bruno Silva after he suffered a scary knockout loss to Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC 315.

“Blindado” was down on the canvas for several minutes before being taken from the Octagon on a stretcher on Saturday night at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. During the broadcast, it was revealed that Silva complained of neck pain after being rendered unconscious by some brutal elbows from his Canadian opponent.

However, after being transported to a nearby hospital, the Brazilian revealed that he is in relatively good health.

“Stopping by to inform that I’m fine,” Silva wrote on Instagram (translation via MMAFightig.com). “I went to the hospital and did exams, it’s all OK with my health.” The 35-year-old Silva suffered his fifth straight loss — and the first knockout defeat of his professional career — on Saturday. It’s likely that the former M-1 Global champion will be released from the UFC after his latest setback.

“I’ve received a lot of messages from people that really like me,” Silva wrote. “I was well, I wanted to win so I could give my message, of everything I went through to come back to my feet, but it’s part of life. I’m a winner, and this moment won’t end my story and my legacy. All honor and glory to God.”

Silva won his first-three Octagon appearances, all via KO or TKO, before falling to future two-division champion Alex Pereira via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 203. That began a rough stretch in which “Blindado” would win just one of his last seven UFC bouts.
